This step expands the company&#8217;s <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/articulo\/the-new-era-of-offshore-oil-exploration-discover-the-platforms-of-tomorrow\/\" data-type=\"articulo\" data-id=\"82133\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">exploration operations in Norwegian<\/a><\/strong> in Norwegian waters and strengthens the energy company&#8217;s position as a key operator in the region. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The role of the COSL Innovator platform<\/h2>\n\n<p>For this drilling, Equinor will use COSL Drilling Europe&#8217;s COSL Innovator semi-submersible rig, capable of operating at depths of up to 750 meters. Drilling is scheduled to commence in August 2025, on schedule and under a contract that provides for extensions. <\/p>\n\n<p>Likewise, the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/factpages.sodir.no\/en\/wellbore\/pageview\/exploration\/drillpermit\/10362\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">license 554 E<\/a><\/strong> was granted in February 2023 with a term until 2030.
