Finnish technology company W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 <\/strong>will supply a 204 MW power generation plant for the Reko Diqel project<\/strong>. This initiative, located in Balochistan, Pakistan, is being managed by Reko Diq Mining Company<\/strong>(RDMC<\/em>), a subsidiary of Barrick Gold Corporation<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

Energy infrastructure adapted to the Reko Diqel project<\/h2>\n\n

The plant will consist of 12 W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 50 engines and heat recovery boilers<\/strong> that will allow the integration of Flexicycle technology<\/strong>, adding steam turbines. The development is designed to enable the future transition to alternative fuels, which represents an important step towards operational sustainability. <\/p>\n\n

As stipulated, the infrastructure will be delivered under an EPC contract<\/strong>, with an estimated delivery date of the end of 2026. The plant will be built with capabilities to integrate with renewable energies and the national power grid. <\/p>\n\n

The Reko Diq project<\/strong> stands out for its vast copper and gold reserves, while the impact it will have on the country’s energy and industrial development. The new W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 <\/strong>W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4<\/strong><\/a> plant will ensure a reliable and cost-effective power supply, essential for mining operations in a remote region like Balochistan. <\/p>\n\n
