Ingram Marine Group held an emotional ceremony at the Paducah River Port, located in the western U.S. state of Kentucky<\/strong>, to christen two of its newest<\/strong> tugboats<\/a><\/strong>The tugs are named M\/V Chuck A.J. Arnold and M\/V John D. Roberts. <\/p>\n\n

Tugboats that pay tribute to leadership<\/h2>\n\n

The M\/V tug Chuck A.J. Arnold was named in honor of the firm’s current commercial director<\/strong>. Chuck Arnold has played a key role in various areas such as liquid sales, dry bulk sales and bunker services. His commercial vision and leadership style have been instrumental in consolidating Ingram’s presence in major U.S. waterways. <\/p>\n\n

The 45.7 m x 13.7 m M\/V Chuck A.J. Arnold is a 4560 hp twin propeller tug powered by EMD 12-645E7B diesel engines. She was built in 1980 by St. Louis Ship in St. Louis and acquired by Ingram in 2002 as part of the purchase of Midland Enterprises. <\/p>\n\n

The M\/V John D. Roberts pays tribute to the company’s chief executive officer, John Roberts<\/strong>. With a strong career in operations, logistics and consulting within the marine industry, Roberts has been a constant mentor to new generations within the company. His commitment to the development of human talent has left its mark on Ingram Marine’s organizational culture. <\/p>\n\n

WorkBoat commented that the 200′ x 50′ M\/V John D. Roberts, is a three-propeller tug with 9,000 hp<\/a><\/strong> with an output of 9000 hp, powered by three EMD 12-710G diesel engines. She was built in 1973 by St. Louis Ship in St. Louis, Missouri, and acquired by Ingram in April 2005. <\/p>\n\n

Fleet consolidation and institutional legacy<\/h2>\n\n

With these new vessels, Ingram reaffirms its role as a key player in North American inland river transportation in North America<\/strong><\/a>. The company currently operates along more than 7200 kilometers of waterways<\/strong>, moving both dry and liquid products. <\/p>\n\n

The christening ceremony also served as a moment to highlight the values that underpin the company’s operation: respect for the human team, shared leadership and commitment to excellence in logistics service.<\/p>\n\n

The vessels bear names that represent exemplary professional careers. The decision to make this recognition public and permanent is evidence of Ingram’s focus on strengthening its corporate culture. <\/p>\n\n
