The Texas Tech University System (TTU System) and Fermi America announced an ambitious agreement to build a 5,800-acre campus in the Texas Panhandle. The campus will combine solar, wind, natural gas and clean nuclear power technology. Its goal is to provide a comprehensive solution to the growing demand for infrastructure for data-intensive processing and AI systems. Rick Perry, former U.S. Secretary of Energy and co-founder of Fermi America, noted that the initiative responds to a strategic need for national security and international competitiveness. <\/p>\n\n

Under the “HyperGrid \u2122” concept, the site will generate power and incorporate battery storage and grid connection.
