These data were confirmed after one year of operation by Bureau Veritas Solutions Marine &amp; Offshore, an independent entity specialized in maritime efficiency. <\/p>\n\n<p>According to the results of the analysis, <strong>savings peaked at up to 5.4 tons per day<\/strong>, without relying on weather routing strategies. The vessel, chartered by Airbus to transport aeronautical sub-assemblies between Europe and the United States, operates with three 22-meter units installed in 2024. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Compact, adaptable and efficient in varying conditions<\/h2>\n\n<p>eSAILs generate significantly more lift force per square meter compared to traditional rigid sails. This efficiency <strong>allows for lighter installations with lower deck space requirements<\/strong>, making them ideal for a wide range of vessels, from gas carriers to cruise ships. <\/p>\n\n<p>Thanks to their ability to operate effectively in side and upwinds, the sails are adaptable to a variety of weather conditions, which broadens their applicability on international routes and high-speed vessels. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/high-speed-ferry-operating-with-hydrogen\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/ferry-de-alta-velocidad-operar-con-hidrogeno\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">high-speed vessels<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Environmental and regulatory benefits with short-term payback<\/h2>\n\n<p>The eSAIL <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/bound4blue.com\/esail\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/bound4blue.com\/esail\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">eSAIL<\/a><\/strong> system enables operators to comply with regulations such as FuelEU Maritime and the EU Emissions Trading Scheme. These regulatory benefits have a direct impact on operational profitability. <\/p>\n\n<p>With an estimated payback period of less than five years, the solution is positioned as a viable option for retrofit projects on existing vessels and new construction.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">International collaboration strengthens energy transition<\/h2>\n\n<p>The Ville de Bordeaux is not the only example.
