This line of WinGD propellants is designed to operate with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/articulo\/implementation-and-regulation-of-ammonia\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/articulo\/implementacion-y-regulacion-del-amoniaco\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ammonia as the main fuel, integrating<\/a><\/strong> The engines will be equipped with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems to minimize pollutant emissions, especially nitrogen oxides (NOx). <\/p>\n\n<p>WinGD, based in Winterthur, has been promoting environmentally friendly energy solutions for decades. Its two-stroke engine <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/articulo\/2-stroke-vs-4-stroke-engines-comparison\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/articulo\/comparativa-motores-de-2-tiempos-y-4-tiempos\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">two-stroke engine technology<\/a><\/strong> technology enables thermal efficiencies comparable to those of diesel, with pilot fuel consumption<strong>of less than 5% and ammonia emissions below 10 ppm<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Trafigura opts for ammonia engines for its future fleet<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>With this acquisition, Trafigura joins the global trend of adopting ammonia as an energy carrier for the shipping industry. The order also strengthens WinGD&#8217;s position in the ammonia transportation market, consolidating the demand for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/articulo\/aerospace-propulsion-innovations\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/articulo\/innovaciones-en-propulsion-aeroespacial\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">green propulsion technologies<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n<p>Deliveries of these engines <strong>are expected between early 2027 and early 2028<\/strong>. WinGD has already validated the performance of the <strong>X-DF-A<\/strong> models on test benches, including full-load operation and control of nitrous oxide emissions. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/study-and-risks-in-ammonia-fuel\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/estudio-y-riesgos-en-combustible-de-amoniaco\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">nitrous oxide emissions<\/a><\/strong> (N\u2082O) emissions below 3 ppm.
