Transocean <\/strong>has confirmed the exercise of a contractual option for approximately $100 million to extend the use of the Transocean Spitsbergen semisubmersible<\/strong>. The new assignment will cover two additional wells and will be executed in Norwegian waters during the first quarter of 2026, providing continuity with the current operating program. <\/p>\n\n

The Norwegian region continues to establish itself as a hotspot for offshore operations<\/strong>, especially for offshore platforms <\/strong>operating under extreme conditions. With one of the most advanced fleets in the world, the company plans to increase its presence in this area through high-tech and reliable drilling solutions. <\/p>\n\n

The Transocean Spitsbergen<\/strong> is designed to perform drilling tasks in demanding scenarios, such as deep water and harsh climates. In addition, its continued deployment in Norway reaffirms the demand for robust rigs with capabilities to operate efficiently in locations where other rigs would not be able to guarantee the same levels of safety and performance. <\/p>\n\n

This contract will represent an addition to the company’s order book, excluding additional services. Moreover, the extension symbolizes the European market’s confidence in the company’s offshore drilling technology<\/strong>, which totals 32 units in global operation, including 24 for ultra-deepwater and 8 oriented to hostile conditions. <\/p>\n\n

With this action, Transocean<\/a><\/strong> establishes its consolidation strategy in markets with high technical demand.
