This new order, awarded in the first quarter of 2025, will be installed on the LNG carrier Hoegh Gandria with the aim of transforming it into a high-capacity floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU). <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Application of the regasification module in Egypt<\/h2>\n\n<p>Upon completion of the retrofit, scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026, the Hoegh Gandria will be deployed in the port of Sumed, Egypt. Thanks to the regasification module, it will operate as a floating LNG import terminal. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/komipo-cancela-importacion-de-gnl\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/komipo-cancela-importacion-de-gnl\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LNG import terminal<\/a><\/strong>with <strong>a maximum capacity of up to 1 billion cubic feet per day<\/strong>. This development seeks to strengthen Egypt&#8217;s energy infrastructure, providing flexibility and responsiveness to the demand for liquefied natural gas.  <\/p>\n\n<p>H\u00f6egh Evi, a leading operator of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/articulo\/integration-renewable-energies-shipping\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/articulo\/energia-renovable-en-el-transporte-maritimo\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">offshore energy infrastructure<\/a><\/strong>has had a partnership with W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 Gas Solutions for two decades. \u00d8ivin Iversen, project manager at H\u00f6egh Evi, highlighted the reliability of the module as a key factor in their choice. W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 stressed that this delivery aligns with its innovation strategy focused on energy efficiency and decarbonization.  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A critical component in the conversion to FSRU<\/h2>\n\n<p>The module <strong>is scheduled<\/strong> for delivery in <strong>the second quarter of 2026<\/strong>. Its technical integration on the Hoegh Gandria is essential for the vessel to operate as an FSRU.
