Seatrium <\/strong>has completed the delivery of its eighteenth floating production, storage and offloading(FPSO<\/em>) unit to BW Offshore<\/strong>. This is the FPSO BW Opal<\/strong>, one of the largest processing vessels destined to operate in Australia, specifically in the Barossa field, located 285 kilometers north of Darwin. <\/p>\n\n

Delivery of the FPSO BW Opal <\/h2>\n\n

With this delivery, Seatriu<\/a>m<\/a> <\/strong>strengthens its position as a world reference in the construction and completion of offshore infrastructure. The project included the installation of topside modules<\/strong>, deck equipment <\/strong>and a turret mooring system<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

The BW Opal FPSO<\/em> is designed to process up to 850 million standard cubic feet per day of natural gas, along with 11,000 barrels per day of stabilized condensate. In addition, it integrates advanced energy efficiency technologies, enabling an estimated 15% reduction in CO\u2082 emissions versus conventional technologies. During its operating life, this optimization could represent a reduction of 2.3 million tons of greenhouse gases. <\/p>\n\n

For BW Offshore,<\/strong> the BW Opal is the result of a proven synergy. Marco Beenen, CEO of BW Offshore, highlighted the trust placed in Seatrium, while Marlin Khiew, Executive Vice President Energy(Americas<\/em>) of Seatrium, mentioned the importance of a relationship built on decades of effective collaboration. <\/p>\n\n

This project represents a technical milestone, as well as a concrete commitment to the sustainable development of the offshore industry. Santos <\/strong>‘ participation in the Barossa field increases Australia’s projection as one of the essential centers of energy production in the Asia-Pacific region. <\/p>\n\n
