Germany’s MAN Energy Solutions<\/strong> has confirmed that it will deliver its most powerful methanol engine in June this year. This model was named MAN B&W 12G95ME-C10.5-LGIM<\/strong>, and is being assembled by CSSC-MES Diesel <\/strong>(CMD<\/em>) in China, designed for green methanol and dual-fuel operations. <\/p>\n\n

This two-stroke engine<\/em> will reach a power output of 82,440 kW at 80 RPM<\/strong>, making it the global reference in the sector. In addition, it will be equipped with the EGRTC system<\/strong>, a MAN innovation that optimizes exhaust gas recirculation, thus minimizing polluting emissions. The new generation of engines will be installed on a series of 12 24,000 TEU container ships currently under construction. Also seven of them are being assembled by Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering<\/strong>(NACKS<\/em>) for Orient Overseas Container Line<\/strong>(OOCL<\/em>), and the remaining five by Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering<\/strong>(DACKS<\/em>) for COSCO Shipping Lines.<\/strong> These vessels will form part of the most modern and sustainable fleets in the world. <\/p>\n\n

As we move towards a multi-fuel future, interest in methanol has grown steadily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
