{"id":257565,"date":"2025-05-21T15:57:24","date_gmt":"2025-05-21T19:57:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/seatrium-obtains-abs-approval-for-ammonia-bunker-vessel\/"},"modified":"2025-05-21T16:20:39","modified_gmt":"2025-05-21T20:20:39","slug":"seatrium-obtains-abs-approval-for-ammonia-bunker-vessel","status":"publish","type":"noticias","link":"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/seatrium-obtains-abs-approval-for-ammonia-bunker-vessel\/","title":{"rendered":"Seatrium obtains ABS approval for ammonia bunker vessel"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As part of the energy transition in the maritime sector, <strong>Seatrium <\/strong>has received approval in principle<em>(AiP<\/em>) from the <strong>American Bureau of Shipping<\/strong> for its 25,000 m\u00b3 ammonia bunker vessel, model SMDT 25000VX-NH3.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ammonia bunker ship technology<\/h2>\n\n<p>The vessel is designed by <strong>Seatrium Marine &amp; Deepwater Technology<\/strong>, integrates a Type C containment system in accordance with International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations. <a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/maersk-boosts-maritime-decarbonisation-with-its-new-ap-moller-vessel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>International Maritime Organization (IMO)<\/strong><\/a><em>(IMO<\/em>) and the <strong>International Gas Code<\/strong><em>(IGC<\/em>). With a deadweight tonnage of 19,500 tons and a cruising speed of 14 knots, the vessel is designed to operate for up to 55 days without refueling. <\/p>\n\n<p>On the other hand, the vessel has a <strong>bifuel engine <\/strong>system that allows it to alternate between ammonia and diesel, which gives it operational versatility in different routes and conditions. In addition, its safety architecture prioritizes the <strong>prevention of leaks on open deck<\/strong>, complying with the highest safety standards required by ABS and international regulations. <\/p>\n\n<p>The AiP received validates the <strong>technical feasibility of the project<\/strong>, ensuring that it meets the regulatory and engineering requirements necessary to move forward to the detailed design and construction phases.
