A new phase has been completed in the construction of the offshore support vessel “SeaDragon”, after the keel laying ceremony was held on May 13, 2025 at the CRIST shipyard<\/strong>, located in Gdynia, Poland.<\/p>\n\n

SeaDragon’s breakthrough vessel and technology for demanding conditions<\/h2>\n\n

The “SeaDragon” is designed to support the structural development of the NB110 project<\/strong>. The vessel will integrate technologies such as the Walk2Work system<\/strong>, which enables the safe transfer of personnel between the vessel and offshore platforms, as well as DP3 dynamic positioning, which ensures stability and precision during offshore operations. <\/p>\n\n

This project is promoted by the Norwegian shipowner DOF<\/strong>, a company specialized in marine services for the oil and gas industry. Moreover, the design has been developed by the naval engineering office MMC Ship Design & Marine Consulting<\/strong>, in collaboration with StoGda Ship Design and Engineering<\/strong>, which oversees part of the construction process. <\/p>\n\n

In general, the unit is built under the supervision of the American Bureau of Shipping. American Bureau of Shipping<\/a><\/strong><\/strong>(ABS<\/em>), ensuring compliance with stringent safety and efficiency standards. In addition, the SeaDragon <\/em>will maintain an FSV <\/strong>(Field Support Vessel<\/em>) design, which means that it will be prepared for logistic activities<\/strong>, maneuvering assistance<\/strong> and technical support<\/strong> in offshore projects. <\/p>\n\n

This ceremonial event gives continuity to the process initiated in January 2025, when the cutting of the first plate took place at CRIST’s facilities<\/strong>. Since then, the project has evolved with firm steps, integrating advanced technology and the integral experience of multiple actors in the naval sector. <\/p>\n\n
