Smart maritime technology specialist Ocean Power Technologies<\/strong>(OPT<\/em>) has signed a contract with an international defense customer to deliver multiple WAM-V vehicles.<\/p>\n\n

Supply of WAM-V vehicles<\/h2>\n\n

The operation, which will be executed under a COCO <\/strong>(contractor-owned, contractor-operated<\/em>) model, contemplates the supply of unmanned vessels, integrated sensors and trained operators to manage them, with delivery scheduled for late spring 2025.<\/p>\n\n

The award strengthens OPT’s presence as a provider of ocean surveillance ocean surveillance and maritime<\/strong><\/a> and maritime security<\/strong> technologies. Through the WAM-V platform, designed for autonomous patrolling and operational adaptability, it has established itself as a strategic resource for both surface and underwater operations. <\/p>\n\n

Although financial terms and customer details were not disclosed due to the sensitivity of the agreement, this new order marks a continuation of OPT’s expansion in the defense sector.<\/p>\n\n

Its PowerBuoy technology<\/strong>, which provides power and remote communications, along with WAM-V autonomous surface vehicles<\/strong>, are integrated as modular solutions for mine countermeasures and advanced reconnaissance.<\/p>\n\n
