This stage marks the formal start of the construction of a vessel destined to improve Saudi Arabia&#8217;s position. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Freire Shipyard celebrates keel laying of Thuwal II<\/h2>\n\n<p>With a length of 50 meters, a beam of 12.8 meters and a draft of 3.6 meters, the <strong>Thuwal II vessel <\/strong>will be able to accommodate up to 30 people on board. This model will have a modular design that will allow the laboratories to adapt to the changing needs of <strong>oceanographic research<\/strong>, integrating state-of-the-art marine technologies. In addition, its structure is prepared for the future incorporation of <strong>environmentally friendly propulsion systems<\/strong>, minimizing its carbon footprint in the Red Sea.  <\/p>\n\n<p>From <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/kaust-succeeds-in-producing-more-affordable-carbon-fiber-from-petroleum-waste\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"247514\">KAUST<\/a><\/strong> have emphasized that the incorporation of the Thuwal II will strengthen the institution&#8217;s research capacity by facilitating advanced studies on <strong>biodiversity<\/strong>, <strong>current dynamics<\/strong> and <strong>conservation of marine ecosystems<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>For Freire Shipyard it is an honor to contribute to the construction of a cutting-edge vessel such as the Thuwal II.
