In the heart of the Gulf of Mexico, Chevron has begun oil and natural gas production<\/a><\/strong> from the promising Ballymore project. Located approximately 260 km southeast of New Orleans, this development in the Mississippi Basin strengthens the energy company’s presence in U.S. deepwater. <\/p>\n\n

Technological efficiency in offshore oil production<\/h2>\n\n

Ballymore is designed to reach a maximum capacity of up to 75,000 gross barrels per day (bpd<\/strong> ) from three wells connected via a subsea tieback infrastructure directly linked to the existing Blind Faith platform. This operation eliminates the need to build a new, standalone platform, reducing costs and accelerating the return on investment. <\/p>\n\n

The company emphasizes that the project was delivered on time<\/strong> , meeting established budgetary and technical parameters. Brent Gros, vice president of Chevron Gulf of America, stated that the implemented strategy maximizes technological efficiency and maintains low levels of carbon intensity in production, aligning with the region’s environmental standards. <\/p>\n\n

The field is located at a depth of approximately 2,000 meters and is estimated to contain up to 150 million barrels of oil equivalent<\/strong> in recoverable resources. This is Chevron’s first project in the Norphlet geological trend, opening up new exploration and development prospects in the area. <\/p>\n\n

Companies consolidate their presence in key offshore projects<\/h2>\n\n

Chevron USA Inc. leads the operation with a 60% stake, while TotalEnergies E&P USA holds the remaining 40%. Both companies continue to strengthen their position in the Gulf with other recent projects such as Anchor<\/a><\/strong> and Whale<\/a><\/strong> , as well as injection programs in the Tahiti and Jack\/St. Malo fields. <\/p>\n\n

With Ballymore underway, the oil company is moving closer to its goal of producing 300,000 net barrels per day<\/strong> in the region by 2026, cementing its role as a key player in the U.S. energy supply<\/a><\/strong> .<\/p>\n\n
