The Government of Guyana celebrated the arrival of the FPSO ONE GUYANA, a floating production vessel that will join the Yellowtail project in the Stabroek Block, operated by ExxonMobil Guyana. This addition brings the total number of active FPSO<\/a><\/strong> units in the country to four and positions Guyana closer to achieving a daily production capacity of nearly one million barrels of oil. <\/p>\n\n

A high-capacity oil production vessel<\/h2>\n\n

Built by Dutch firm SBM Offshore, the FPSO ONE GUYANA has an estimated production capacity of 250,000 barrels per day<\/strong> and can store up to two million barrels. The vessel will play a key role in offshore crude oil extraction<\/a><\/strong> within the Stabroek Block, one of the most prolific fields discovered in the region. <\/p>\n\n

The unit is part of the fourth phase of the block, led by ExxonMobil and its partners, Hess and CNOOC. These companies have identified more than 40 fields in the area<\/strong> and continue to invest in infrastructure to increase offshore production. With this new platform, the block’s total production could reach 900,000 barrels per day<\/a><\/strong> before the end of the year. <\/p>\n\n

During the welcoming ceremony, the Minister of Natural Resources, Vickram Bharrat, emphasized that this development reinforces the growth of the oil industry<\/a><\/strong> and also creates jobs and opportunities for the local economy. According to the official, the government’s vision is to ensure that the benefits of the hydrocarbon sector reach all Guyanese, promoting transparency and sustainability. <\/p>\n\n

The FPSO ONE GUYANA joins the Liza Destiny, Liza Unity, and Prosperity platforms, all active in Guyana’s territorial waters. Its arrival symbolizes the country’s continued progress as a significant new player in oil production in the Western Hemisphere. This growth, supported by international technology and a strong public-private partnership, reflects confidence in the potential of Guyana’s offshore resources<\/a><\/strong> . <\/p>\n\n
