How does fire suppressant work on batteries?<\/h2>\n\n

The core of the development is the Battery System<\/a><\/strong> Assembly (BSA), which includes a fire extinguishing device, intelligent control software, and a high-precision sensor system. Upon detecting abnormal temperatures, pressures, or voltages, the system calculates the exact point of risk in real time<\/strong> and triggers a precise discharge of suppressant, designed to cool and insulate the affected area. <\/p>\n\n

This agent has a suppression capacity five times greater than a 3.3 kg household fire extinguisher. It is also environmentally friendly and safe for humans<\/strong> , allowing its implementation without compromising health or the environment. <\/p>\n\n

Response to international regulations<\/h2>\n\n

Hyundai Mobis’s solution exceeds current regulatory requirements, which require delaying heat propagation by five minutes. Some markets, such as India and Europe, are moving toward even stricter regulations, but this system not only complies with them but also anticipates them, preventing heat propagation from the outset. <\/p>\n\n

The development includes a heat-resistant housing and a decision-making algorithm with redundant architecture. This combination enables automated, rapid, and reliable decisions<\/strong> . The system has been granted three patents, covering everything from the design of the agent ducts to the high-pressure activation mechanism. <\/p>\n\n

In addition, Hyundai Mobis is working in parallel on the implementation of a pulsating heat pipe, a composite solution of aluminum and coolant that sits between cells and improves thermal management, especially during rapid charging.<\/p>\n\n
