The Spanish company bound4blue<\/strong> has installed the world’s largest eSAIL sails on the MV Atlantic Orchard<\/strong> , a vessel chartered by Louis Dreyfus Company<\/strong> ( LDC<\/em> ). These suction sails, reaching 26 meters in height, will optimize the vessel’s energy efficiency, allowing it to reduce fuel consumption and emissions by 10%, according to initial estimates. <\/p>\n\n

The sail installation on the MV Atlantic Orchard<\/strong> took less than a day per unit at the Astander shipyard in Santander, Spain. This process was quick and meticulously planned, ensuring that the vessel benefited from the advantages of wind propulsion immediately, with the least possible downtime. <\/p>\n\n

The bound4blue<\/strong> eSAIL system<\/a><\/strong> has been designed to be completely autonomous, requiring little human intervention. This technology helps reduce polluting emissions and offers an economically viable path to greener shipping.
