This action represents a firm step toward emissions-free and more efficient maritime transportation in one of the busiest areas in the country. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The construction of two NBBB electric ferries<\/h2>\n\n<p>The project will involve the participation of globally recognized firms, such as <strong>Incat Crowther<\/strong> , which will provide the vessel design, while <strong>W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 North America<\/strong> will integrate the electric propulsion system. Ockerman Automation Consulting will be responsible for the overall electrical system. <\/p>\n\n<p>Each vessel will have a capacity for 400 passengers and will be built to <strong>Subchapter K<\/strong> standards. They will also reach an operating speed of 25 knots, to strengthen key bay locations such as Oakland, Alameda, and San Francisco. Propulsion will also be based on a modular system with four independent units, each with a <strong>Hydromaster<\/strong> thruster, and charging and energy conversion systems supplied by <strong>W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4<\/strong> .  <\/p>\n\n<p>Since its founding in 1982, the company has been a pioneer in the <strong>construction of high-speed aluminum <a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/mars-clipper-ferry-ferry-hybrid-of-uber-boat\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"183420\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">catamarans<\/a><\/strong> .
