LNG Canada’s export terminal in Kitimat, British Columbia, has received its first cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG)<\/strong> . This arrival marks a significant milestone in the process of launching export operations<\/a><\/strong> , which are expected to begin in mid-2025. <\/p>\n\n

The cargo, aboard the Maran Gas Roxana, was received with the support of HaiSea Marine, the British Columbia Coastal Pilots, and the Canadian Pacific Pilotage Authority. The Canadian Coast Guard and the Canada Border Services Agency also played a crucial role in the operation. <\/p>\n\n

LNG cargo ensures natural gas exports to key markets<\/h2>\n\n

LNG Canada<\/a><\/strong> is a joint venture between five global energy companies: Shell, PETRONAS, PetroChina, Mitsubishi Corporation, and KOGAS<\/strong> . The export infrastructure at Kitimat, an ice-free port, will allow Canada to export natural gas<\/a><\/strong> to key global markets. <\/p>\n\n

Canadian natural gas, recognized for its abundance and low cost, will help reduce global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, replacing the use of coal in many energy markets.<\/p>\n\n

The LNG cargo shipment aims to ensure the terminal facilities are fully operational<\/strong> before the arrival of the first export cargoes in mid-2025. With this transaction, the company and its partners are positioned to contribute significantly to global energy security and the economic growth of Northwest British Columbia and the entire country. <\/p>\n\n
