DP World and Maersk have signed an eight-year strategic agreement<\/strong> to strengthen their operations at the Port of Santos, Brazil’s main logistics hub. The terminal, operated by DP World, will see a significant increase in its maritime services<\/a><\/strong> , responding to the sustained growth of the country’s foreign trade. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Million-dollar investment to expand capacity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As part of the commitment, DP World will invest R$450 million<\/strong> to increase container handling capacity to 1.7 million TEUs by 2026. This figure will grow to 2.1 million TEUs by the end of 2027, thanks to an additional investment of R$1.6 billion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the first year of the agreement, Maersk will add six new services, totaling eight weekly calls. By 2026, with the expansion of the infrastructure, these calls will increase to ten, consolidating the Port of Santos as a key player in maritime transport<\/a><\/strong> in Latin America. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

DP World and Maersk modernize trade in Brazil<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The logistics development includes a partnership with Rumo, Brazil’s main rail operator, to create a terminal to handle grain and fertilizer shipments. This project will add 12.5 million tons of annual capacity<\/strong> , strengthening the network’s intermodality and efficiency. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a record 1.25 million TEUs handled by 2024, DP World<\/a><\/strong> is consolidating its position as a major player in the modernization of trade in Brazil. The company continues to invest in logistics and technological expansion with new services and the addition of state-of-the-art port equipment<\/a><\/strong> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
