This project, located 160 km off the Black Sea coast, is considered one of Romania&#8217;s most important projects in terms of energy security. <\/p>\n\n<p>The drilling of this first well, which is being carried out in the Pelican South field, kicks off a series of ten wells, which will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2026. The first gas deliveries are expected in 2027, with a production projection of 8 bcm per year once peak production is reached. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The importance of the Neptun Deep project<\/h2>\n\n<p>The Neptun Deep project will be key to reducing Romania&#8217;s dependence on natural gas imports. Furthermore, the environmental impact of drilling has been minimized thanks to the use of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.neodrill.com\/technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Neodrill&#8217;s CAN-ductor technology<\/a><\/strong> , which enables cleaner and more efficient drilling. <\/p>\n\n<p>The infrastructure for this megaproject includes <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/articulo\/waste-management-on-offshore-platforms\/\" data-type=\"articulo\" data-id=\"131273\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">offshore platforms<\/a><\/strong> , subsea production systems, and a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/gas-pipeline-balticconnector-resume-operation\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"146699\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">gas pipeline<\/a><\/strong> to transport gas to shore.
