Japanese company ELECOM<\/strong> has announced the launch of the world’s first mobile battery based on sodium ions, a technology that aims to be a safer and more sustainable alternative to lithium batteries.<\/p>\n\n

ELECOM’s innovative sodium-ion battery<\/h2>\n\n

For 11 consecutive years, ELECOM has been a leader in mobile battery sales in Japan, and with its new battery, it aims to address environmental and safety issues associated with lithium and other rare earth metals. The new sodium-ion battery<\/strong> is capable of operating in extreme temperature conditions, from -35\u00b0C to 50\u00b0C. <\/p>\n\n

For example, compared to lithium-ion batteries<\/a><\/strong> , which are prone to overheating and fires, sodium-ion technology offers a higher level of safety, minimizing the risk of thermal failure. Furthermore, its lifespan is 10 times longer than a battery, reaching up to 5,000 charge cycles, which translates into greater durability and less electronic waste. <\/p>\n\n

This 9000mAh<\/strong> device supports USB Power Delivery<\/strong> and PPS<\/strong> standards, allowing it to charge everything from smartphones and tablets to laptops with up to 45W output. Thanks to its USB Type-C<\/strong> and USB-A<\/strong> port design, it fits a wide range of modern electronic devices.<\/p>\n\n

The use of sodium ions instead of lithium<\/strong> and cobalt<\/strong> contributes to reducing dependence on materials whose extraction generates negative environmental and social impacts. ELECOM strengthens its commitment to sustainability by offering a product with a lower carbon footprint and greater energy efficiency. <\/p>\n\n

ELECOM’s new mobile battery<\/strong> will be available for pre-orders starting March 13th, with a special launch promotion. Its arrival on the market marks an important step in the evolution of portable batteries and the transition toward cleaner energy technologies. <\/p>\n\n
