This achievement marks a key step in the expansion of Petrobras\u2019 production capacity in the pre-salt region. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FPSO Alexandre de Gusm\u00e3o boosts Mero&#8217;s growth<\/h2>\n\n<p>The Alexandre de Gusm\u00e3o FPSO <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sbmoffshore.com\/newsroom\/fpso-alexandre-de-gusmao-is-on-its-way-to-brazil-and-consolidates-sbm-offshores-presence-in-the-country\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.sbmoffshore.com\/newsroom\/fpso-alexandre-de-gusmao-is-on-its-way-to-brazil-and-consolidates-sbm-offshores-presence-in-the-country\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">departed China in December 2024<\/a><\/strong> after construction at the COSCO Shipping shipyard and was handed over to leasing partners SBM Offshore and Petrobras.  <\/p>\n\n<p>This unit has a processing capacity of 180,000 barrels of oil per day and compression of 12 million cubic meters of gas, which will <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/fpso-alexandre-de-gusmao-sailed-to-brazil-to-reinforce-production-in-the-mero-field\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/fpso-alexandre-zarpo-de-china-al-campo-mero\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">increase the production of the Mero field by 31%<\/a><\/strong> , reaching 770,000 barrels per day.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Impact on the Santos Basin and strategic partners<\/h2>\n\n<p>Located in ultra-deep waters 180 kilometres off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, the Mero field already has four operational FPSO units: Pioneiro de Libra, Guanabara, Sepetiba and Marechal Duque de Caxias. The incorporation of the Alexandre de Gusm\u00e3o FPSO strengthens the exploration and extraction strategy in the Brazilian pre-salt. <\/p>\n\n<p>Petrobras leads this project with a 38.6% stake, in collaboration with Shell Brasil (19.3%), TotalEnergies (19.3%), CNOOC (9.65%), CNPC (9.65%) and Pr\u00e9-Sal Petr\u00f3leo SA (PPSA), which represents the Union in the non-contracted area (3.5%).<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Expansion and modernization of the offshore sector<\/h2>\n\n<p>With the arrival of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marinetraffic.com\/en\/ais\/details\/ships\/shipid:7666967\/mmsi:311001080\/imo:9946673\/vessel:ALEXANDRE_DE_GUSMAO\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.marinetraffic.com\/en\/ais\/details\/ships\/shipid:7666967\/mmsi:311001080\/imo:9946673\/vessel:ALEXANDRE_DE_GUSMAO\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alexandre de Gusm\u00e3o FPSO<\/a><\/strong> , Petrobras reinforces its commitment to the expansion of deepwater infrastructure, consolidating its leadership in offshore technology and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/la-fpso-atlanta-initiates-operations-in-brazil\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/la-fpso-atlanta-inicia-operaciones-en-brasil\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hydrocarbon extraction in Brazil<\/a><\/strong> .
