This resource will be used as a key input in the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/steel-in-saarland-and-the-hydrogen-green\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"141688\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">manufacture of low-emission steel<\/a><\/strong> . <\/p>\n\n<p>To carry out this transition, the Austrian company <strong>ANDRITZ<\/strong> will be in charge of supplying the 100 MW electrolysis plant under the <strong>EPC<\/strong> ( <em>Engineering, Procurement and Construction<\/em> ) modality. The technology used comes from <strong>HydrogenPro<\/strong> , a company specialized in advanced pressurized alkaline electrolysis solutions. <\/p>\n\n<p>The <strong>SALCOS programme<\/strong> envisages a phased implementation, including the start-up of a direct reduction plant and an electric arc furnace, in addition to the aforementioned <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/green-hydrogen-green-ecological-plant-3-mw\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"142882\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">electrolysis plant<\/a><\/strong> . Furthermore, the first products derived from this new production route are expected to reach the market in 2026, with the ultimate goal of achieving a carbon-free steel industry in Salzgitter by 2033. <\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Governments now have the responsibility to create the right framework conditions for green production.
