This joint effort seeks to transform the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/maritime-industry-eu-emissions-costs\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"100786\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">maritime industry<\/a><\/strong> towards a more sustainable model. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About the NAVHYS project<\/h2>\n\n<p>The NAVHYS project, led by ArianeGroup and supported by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership and the European Union, aims to design an advanced cryogenic hydrogen storage and supply system for integration into a SOV. North Star, a company specialising in offshore operations, will be in charge of operating this innovative vessel, while Bureau Veritas will oversee the certification of the system. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/lr-approves-vacuum-insulated-liquid-hydrogen-tank-to-hd-ksoe\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"222300\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Liquid hydrogen<\/a><\/strong> represents a technical challenge due to its strict cooling and insulation requirements. However, ArianeGroup&#8217;s expertise in handling this fuel in space applications provides a solid basis for addressing these challenges. <\/p>\n\n<p>Currently, gaseous hydrogen is used in near-shore applications. However, for longer distances and offshore operations, liquid hydrogen is emerging as a more efficient alternative due to its higher energy density. NAVHYS seeks to validate this concept through the development and testing of a system that guarantees safety and efficiency in its naval application.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The project, which will take place over 36 months, will allow the SOV&#8217;s performance to be evaluated in different operational scenarios.
