This initiative is in line with the Indian government\u2019s plans to position the country among the top five maritime hubs of the world, as outlined in Vision 2047 and the recent announcements in the Union Budget 2025-26. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A key boost for the maritime industry<\/h2>\n\n<p>The collaboration between Maersk and CSL comes at a critical time, when ship repair yards are facing high global demand. This partnership seeks to consolidate India as a benchmark in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/the-state-naval-construction-corporation-begins-the-construction-of-6-vehicle-carriers\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"229440\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">shipbuilding<\/a><\/strong> and maintenance services, strengthening maritime infrastructure and generating new opportunities for the industry. <\/p>\n\n<p>Maersk will leverage its global fleet management expertise to enhance CSL&#8217;s technical capabilities. In a first stage, the collaboration will focus on <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/advances-repair-repairs-container-carrier-dali\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/avances-reparacion-portacontenedores-dali\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">container ship maintenance and repair<\/a><\/strong> , with dry dock operations for vessels of up to 4,000 TEUs and afloat repairs <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mundomaritimo.cl\/noticias\/maersk-y-cochin-shipyard-firman-acuerdo-para-fortalecer-reparacion-y-construccion-de-buques-en-india\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.mundomaritimo.cl\/noticias\/maersk-y-cochin-shipyard-firman-acuerdo-para-fortalecer-reparacion-y-construccion-de-buques-en-india\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">for vessels of up to 7,000 TEUs<\/a><\/strong> , according to the Mundo Maritimo portal. These capabilities are expected to be progressively expanded over time.  <\/p>\n\n<p>In addition, in the first stage, the collaboration will focus on vessels of up to 7,000 TEUs for afloat repairs and up to 4,000 TEUs for ships in dry dock, with a projection of progressive expansion of capacities in the future.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Benefits of strategic alliance<\/h2>\n\n<p>The agreement covers several key aspects:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sharing technical knowledge to achieve international standards in ship maintenance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Exploring opportunities in repair, dry dock and new construction.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Training programmes to enhance the skills of CSL staff and Maersk seafarers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Development of sustainable initiatives in the maritime industry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Boat repair and growth of the sector<\/h2>\n\n<p><strong>The first refit of a Maersk vessel at CSL is planned for 2025<\/strong> , marking the start of a long-term collaboration.
