The Port of Valencia has put into operation its new photovoltaic solar plant<\/strong> , the largest in the port area. This installation, which generates 5.8 MWp of power, will occupy a crucial place in the port’s decarbonisation plan<\/a><\/strong> , as it is estimated that it will produce 8,380 MWh annually, which represents 15% of the energy demand of the Valencian docks. <\/p>\n\n

The solar plant<\/a><\/strong> has been installed on the vehicle silo of the terminal at the Eastern Dock. Thanks to the collaboration between Lantania, the Tecmo Group and the European funds Next Generation EU, the Port of Valencia is taking a new step towards the energy transition, becoming an example of sustainability in the port sector. <\/p>\n\n

Impact of the photovoltaic plant on the port’s energy efficiency<\/h2>\n\n

The photovoltaic plant, which has more than 10,000 solar modules<\/strong> , will contribute to the reduction of CO\u2082 emissions and also strengthens the energy infrastructure of the Port of Valencia, which will allow the optimisation of the electricity supply<\/a><\/strong> to the port facilities and the ships operating in the area.<\/p>\n\n

This initiative is part of a joint effort to meet the port’s new energy requirements, in line with sustainability goals and the use of renewable resources.<\/p>\n\n
