This initiative seeks to reduce carbon emissions in <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/equinor-oil-and-gas-discovery-near-troll-field\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"215868\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">oil and gas production<\/a><\/strong> , aligning with the industry&#8217;s sustainability goals. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CO2 capture modules for emissions reduction<\/h2>\n\n<p>The design of the carbon capture module is based on Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI)&#8217;s patented &#8221; <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/solutions.mhi.com\/ccus\/co2-capture-technology-for-exhaust-gas-kmcdr-process\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/solutions.mhi.com\/ccus\/co2-capture-technology-for-exhaust-gas-kmcdr-process\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Advanced KM CDR Process<\/a><\/strong> &#8221; technology, which has already been validated by DNV.<\/p>\n\n<p>This system allows for efficient <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/fs-bioenergy-will-capture-and-store-co2-2-km-deep-in-brazil\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"40790\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CO2 capture and storage<\/a><\/strong> , reducing the carbon footprint of offshore operations. The solution integrates with SBM Offshore\u2019s Fast4ward approach, facilitating its implementation in future FPSOs. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Evaluating configurations for Petrobras FPSO<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>The study will cover different <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/shows-the-success-carbon-capture-method\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"110897\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">carbon capture<\/a><\/strong> configurations for FPSOs in Petrobras fields, taking into account:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Different types of turbines and installed machinery.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Variations in gas flow rates and turbine powers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Various CO2 concentrations and gas composition.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A step towards offshore decarbonisation<\/h2>\n\n<p>Olivier Icyk, Commercial Director of SBM Offshore, stressed that this study reinforces Petrobras&#8217; confidence in the company as a key player in the energy transition.  <\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>The signing of this study demonstrates the confidence that Petrobras has in SBM Offshore as a pioneer company in ocean infrastructure. We continue to work towards decarbonization solutions in the design of our products and in our offshore operations.
