Through this agreement, both companies are looking to bring this type of energy to scale, starting with a 100 kW pilot project at BPCL’s facility in Mumbai. As technological advancements continue, the vision is to expand commercial installations along the entire Indian coastline.

The MoU also coincides with India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) growing interest in ocean energy, which is seen as a key resource to meet the country’s future energy demand. By implementing large-scale projects, Eco Wave Power and BPCL plan to transform India’s energy sector, driving a transition to cleaner and more sustainable sources.

The promise of ocean energy

Under the agreement, BPCL will manage all regulatory permits and land use, while Eco Wave Power will provide its innovative technology to convert wave energy into sustainable electricity. This project represents a significant technological advancement and a contribution to the global goal of reducing carbon emissions and promoting the use of renewable energy.

Wave power, based on the conversion of ocean waves into electricity, is one of the most promising sources of renewable energy. With more than 250 million people living along India’s coastline, the potential impact of this energy source could be transformative for the country’s economy and environment. Inna Braverman, CEO of Eco Wave Power, highlighted the magnitude of this agreement by noting that, with BPCL’s support, wave power could become a key source of energy in the transition to a cleaner and more sustainable India.

Follow us on social media and don’t miss any of our posts!

YouTube LinkedIn Facebook Instagram X (Twitter) TikTok

Source and photos: Eco Wave Power

[13026,13044

post-229710","noticias","type-noticias","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","categoria_noticias-energy","categoria_noticias-new-energies
["GET
