Fluidstack, the cloud AI platform renowned for its innovation, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the French government to develop the world\u2019s largest decarbonised AI supercomputer<\/strong> . The announcement was made during the AI Action Summit in Paris, attended by President Emmanuel Macron. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A strategic agreement for France’s digital sovereignty<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The agreement was signed by French Minister for the Economy, Finance, Industrial and Digital Sovereignty Eric Lombard, Minister for Industry and Energy Marc Feracci, and Fluidstack co-founder and chairman C\u00e9sar Maklary. The new facility will leverage France\u2019s low-carbon nuclear power<\/a><\/strong> , providing up to 1 gigawatt (GW) of processing power dedicated to AI. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Designed to expand beyond 1 GW by 2028, the supercomputer<\/a><\/strong> will house nearly 500,000 cutting-edge AI chips. In addition to its power, it will stand out for its commitment to sustainability, by using decarbonized energy and recovering waste heat for reuse. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Push for Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The supercomputer will be specially designed to train advanced AI models, consolidating France as a world leader in technological infrastructure. This project is part of a broader strategy to position the country alongside the United States and China as one of the three global centers of artificial intelligence<\/a><\/strong> . <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phase 1 of the project will have an initial investment of 10 billion euros, and is scheduled to go into operation in 2026. This initiative is expected to generate thousands of highly qualified jobs in the AI research and infrastructure sectors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
