ENGIE Chile has secured the contract to develop the Manuel Rodr\u00edguez Sectioning Substation<\/strong> , located in the municipality of Tiltil, approximately 50 kilometers north of Santiago. This project represents the company’s first transmission advance within the Metropolitan Region. <\/p>\n\n

Substation in Tiltil will boost solar projects<\/h2>\n\n

The infrastructure will be configured with one and a half 220 kV switches, connecting to the National Electric System by sectioning the 2\u00d7220 kV Polpaico-R\u00edo Aconcagua line. This development seeks to alleviate saturation at the Polpaico national substation and enable greater capacity for the integration of photovoltaic projects<\/a><\/strong> . <\/p>\n\n

The bidding process began after the publication of the Decree on Tendering New Works in April 2024 and concluded with the submission of bids to the National Electrical Coordinator in November of the same year.<\/p>\n\n
