DHL Group and Neste have decided to intensify their collaboration to advance emissions reduction in the logistics sector<\/a><\/strong> . The partnership aims to assess the impact of Neste\u2019s renewable solutions, such as renewable diesel HVO100 and sustainable aviation fuel<\/strong> (SAF), on DHL\u2019s decarbonization strategy in air and ground transport. <\/p>\n\n

A lower carbon footprint with HVO100 and SAF<\/h2>\n\n

DHL Group has outlined an ambitious plan to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions logistics by 2050.<\/strong> As part of its mid-term strategy to 2030, the company aims to electrify two-thirds of its last-mile delivery vehicles and increase the use of sustainable fuels<\/a><\/strong> to more than 30% across all modes of transport. <\/p>\n\n

Neste, a leading producer of renewable fuels, is positioning itself as a key partner in this transformation. The company will supply DHL with up to 300,000 tonnes of pure SAF per year by 2030<\/strong> , making a significant contribution to reducing emissions in aviation<\/a><\/strong> . In addition, both companies will explore the use of renewable diesel in DHL ground transportation. <\/p>\n\n

Innovation for sustainability <\/h2>\n\n

Signing this agreement with Neste is an important step in our strategy to achieve net-zero logistics by 2050. By working closely with a leading producer of renewable fuels, we can continue to make progress on our interim targets. Together with Neste, we will develop innovative solutions that support our own sustainability goals and, ultimately, those of our customers as well. <\/p>\nSaid Yin Zou, Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at DHL Group, highlighting the importance of the agreement with Nest<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n

Carl Nyberg, Senior Vice President of Renewable Products at Neste, said that this collaboration allows DHL to move forward as a leader in the decarbonization of transport, highlighting that its goal is to provide renewable fuels that reduce greenhouse gas emissions both on the road and in the air.<\/p>\n\n

A sustainable business model<\/h2>\n\n

The agreement also provides for the creation of a business model to facilitate the purchase and sale of SAF<\/a><\/strong> , which will enable more companies to reduce their environmental impact by using sustainable fuels. In addition, DHL and Neste have worked together on the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC), a system that allows for transparent reporting of emissions reductions achieved through the use of SAF. <\/p>\n\n
