The 255,000 square foot facility will support the production and assembly of these all-electric sea gliders. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The first Seaglider manufacturing plant<\/h2>\n\n<p>The company has received support from the state and federal governments to promote this project, with an investment and a global order book exceeding $9 billion. The plant will house the production of components, final assembly and pre-delivery tests of the Viceroy model, with capacity for 12 passengers.  <\/p>\n\n<p>During the groundbreaking ceremony, which brought together more than 100 guests, REGENT CEO Billy Thalheimer highlighted the plant&#8217;s importance to the local economy. The state of Rhode Island has provided incentives of up to $13 million to encourage job creation, with a commitment to create 300 jobs and potentially reach 750 over the next decade. <\/p>\n\n<p>Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee emphasized that the facility reinforces the state&#8217;s position as a leader in maritime innovation and sustainable energy. &#8221; <em>Thanks to initiatives like this, Rhode Island is establishing itself as a hub for technological and manufacturing development<\/em> ,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n\n<p>In addition to attracting venture capital investment and establishing partnerships with the US defense industry, the company is preparing to conduct the first sea trials of its full-scale prototype.
