Marula Mining, a company focused on the extraction of strategic metals<\/a><\/strong> in Africa, has announced that recent assay results have confirmed the presence of high-grade copper in concentrates stored at the Kinusi mine, located in the Mpwapwa district, Tanzania.<\/p>\n\n

The analyses, carried out by an internationally renowned independent laboratory, showed an average copper content of 21.54% in three 10-kilogram samples taken from the open pit Kinusi No. 4. Individually, the assays reported values of 20.21%, 21.77% and 22.64%<\/a><\/strong> , confirming the richness of the mineral present in the mining operation. <\/p>\n\n

These results strengthen ongoing marketing arrangements, with plans to export up to an initial 1,000 tonnes of copper concentrate<\/strong> to buyers in Switzerland, the UK and China-based commodity trading groups. Marula Mining said shipments were planned for 31 January 2025 but have been slightly delayed while sales arrangements are finalised following confirmation of assays. <\/p>\n\n

Development of the processing plant<\/h2>\n\n

The data obtained from the tests will be essential to optimize the design and operation of the processing plant in Kinusi<\/a><\/strong> , structured in two phases. The first includes a gravity concentration circuit, coarse jigging and fine dehydration, with a projected capacity of 24,000 tons of copper concentrate per year<\/strong> . Its commissioning is expected to be completed this quarter. <\/p>\n\n

In the second phase, Marula Mining will implement a heap leaching circuit with hydrometallurgy and solvent extraction, as well as a refining process using electrowinning. This scheme will allow the initial production of 10,200 tons of copper cathodes per year, ensuring greater efficiency and profitability in the mining operation. <\/p>\n\n
