The company, a leader in the development of nuclear fusion technology, seeks to offer a carbon-free, reliable and affordable source of energy. <\/p>\n\n<p>David Kirtley, CEO and co-founder of Helion, highlighted the importance of this financial backing: \u201cWe are on the cusp of delivering a transformative solution to global electricity demand while maintaining U.S. energy leadership.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Advances in fusion technology<\/h2>\n\n<p>Helion has begun operating <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.helionenergy.com\/polaris\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.helionenergy.com\/polaris\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Polaris<\/a><\/strong> , its seventh-generation prototype, with which it hopes to demonstrate the first generation of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/openai-plants-fusion-nuclear-nuclear-company-helion\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"162947\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">electricity from fusion<\/a><\/strong> . Its previous prototype, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.helionenergy.com\/trenta\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.helionenergy.com\/trenta\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Trenta<\/a><\/strong> , had already reached the critical temperature of 100 million degrees Celsius, considered necessary for the commercial operation of a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/new-zealand-first-fusion-reactor\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"200512\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fusion reactor<\/a><\/strong> . <\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Fusion has the potential to transform industry and society. The company has also entered into a partnership with Nucor to develop a 500 MW facility in the 2030s. <\/p>\n\n<p>With this investment and the support of key players, Helion is positioning itself as a leader in the race to make fusion a commercial reality.
