Worley has been selected by First Ammonia to perform the front-end engineering design (FEED) of an innovative ammonia power plant in Victoria, Texas.<\/strong> This facility, with an initial production capacity of 300 metric tons of ammonia<\/a> per<\/a> day<\/a><\/strong> , marks a significant milestone on the path to industrial decarbonization.<\/p>\n\n

SOEC technology in ammonia power plant<\/h2>\n\n

The plant will be the first to use solid oxide electrolyzer (SOEC) technology<\/a><\/strong> for hydrogen production<\/a><\/strong> , an approach that improves energy efficiency by 30% compared to traditional electrolyzers. This advance reduces costs and opens the door to cleaner and more scalable production. <\/p>\n\n

The plant\u2019s design takes into account fluctuations inherent to renewable energy<\/a><\/strong> , playing a key role in stabilising the local power grid. This approach also supports decentralised and cost-effective production, aligning with global sustainability goals. <\/p>\n\n

The FEED study is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2025<\/strong> , with plans to begin construction later this year. This project promises to not only boost the development of sustainable technologies, but also serve as a model for future initiatives around the world. <\/p>\n\n
