Petrobras announced a five-year extension of the charter contract for the FPSO Cidade de Angra dos Reis<\/strong> , a key platform in the offshore production<\/a><\/strong> of the Tupi field, located in the Santos Basin, Brazil. This strategic move aligns the company with its 2025-2029 Business Plan. <\/p>\n\n

The contract, signed with Tupi Pilot MV22 BV and Modec Servi\u00e7os de Petr\u00f3leo do Brasil Ltda., includes significant improvements to the unit. These modifications seek to optimize production, which already exceeds 50,000 barrels per day<\/strong> , while ensuring operational safety and reducing greenhouse gas emissions<\/a><\/strong> .<\/p>\n\n

History and relevance of the Angra dos Reis City FPSO<\/h2>\n\n

Since its entry into operation in 2010, the FPSO Cidade de Angra dos Reis<\/strong><\/a> has stood out as the first high-capacity floating unit in the Brazilian pre-salt layer. This project marked a key point in the country’s offshore exploration and, to this day, remains a reference in terms of technology and efficiency in the Santos Basin. <\/p>\n\n

The Tupi field consortium, comprised of Petrobras (67.216%), Shell (23.024%), Petrogal (9.209%) and PPSA (0.551%), has worked together to ensure the continued success of operations. The contract extension and planned improvements will not only benefit immediate production, but are aimed at ensuring the integrity of the platform until its decommissioning in 2030<\/strong> . <\/p>\n\n
