This technology is designed to reduce methane emissions while maintaining the engines\u2019 high efficiency. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The new Wartsila 34DF engines<\/h2>\n\n<p>EnviroPac technology addresses the challenge of unburned methane, a major problem in the use of liquefied natural gas ( <em>LNG<\/em> ) as a transition fuel. By reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 50%, this solution helps meet the most stringent environmental regulations, such as those set by the <strong>IMO<\/strong> at its level 3. <\/p>\n\n<p>In addition to the environmental benefits, this emission reduction promises to lower operating costs in EU waters, through its alignment with the <strong>Emissions Trading System<\/strong> and <strong>FuelEU Maritime<\/strong> . In addition, the engines will be installed on eight new <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/cma-cgm-to-develop-electric-barge-for-commercial-operations-in-vietnam\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"216966\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CMA CGM<\/a><\/strong> LNG container ships, currently under construction at the Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding yard. <\/p>\n\n<p>W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4 Marine strengthens its commitment to global decarbonisation with this innovation.
