This development includes a 150 MW thermal hydroelectric storage solution with the capacity to supply up to 12 hours of dispatchable power, using RayGen\u2019s advanced technology. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The 250 MW hydrosolar project<\/h2>\n\n<p>The project covers up to 1,200 hectares and has been designed to be fully integrated into the South African electricity grid. <strong>Photon Energy<\/strong> has been granted favourable grid connection conditions to ensure energy stability in a region facing challenges from supply shortages.<\/p>\n\n<p>In the next phase, the company will work closely with <strong>Eskom<\/strong> , Africa\u2019s largest electricity provider, to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/achieve-efficiency-in-photovoltaic-cells\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/noticias\/logran-eficiencia-en-celulas-fotovoltaicas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">design technical solutions<\/a><\/strong> that optimise power distribution and deliver essential services such as frequency regulation and peak demand management.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>RayGen<\/strong> \u2019s Solar Hydro technology integrates concentrated solar heat and power generation with a water-based thermal storage system, providing an efficient and sustainable alternative for long-duration energy storage. Since its initial investment in 2020, Photon Energy has developed a strategic relationship with RayGen, positioning itself as a pioneer in the implementation of this technology. <\/p>\n\n<p>The project is currently moving forward with the <strong>Environmental Impact Assessment<\/strong> scheduled for the fourth quarter of the year and the application for an energy licence with <strong>NERSA<\/strong> .
