Cubico Sustainable Investments has taken a major step in the UK\u2019s energy transition by announcing plans for Scout Moor II, England\u2019s largest onshore wind farm<\/strong> . With a capacity of 100 MW, this project promises to transform the country\u2019s clean energy<\/a><\/strong> generation capacity and position England as a leader in renewable energy<\/a><\/strong> . <\/p>\n\n

England’s largest onshore wind farm<\/h2>\n\n

Scout Moor II<\/strong> wind farm<\/strong> will be located close to the existing Scout Moor wind farm between Edenfield, Rawtenstall and Rochdale in North West England. With an estimated investment of \u00a3200m, this project will contribute to the decarbonisation<\/a><\/strong> of the UK\u2019s electricity system and provide clean energy to over 100,000 homes. <\/p>\n\n

If it obtains the necessary planning permission, Scout Moor II could be operational before 2030, generating a significant portion of the electricity that Greater Manchester will need. This project is the first of its kind in more than a decade in England. <\/p>\n\n

In addition to its impact on energy generation<\/a><\/strong> , the project will generate significant economic benefits for the region. It is estimated that over its lifetime, Scout Moor II will create hundreds of green jobs in the area. Cubico has also proposed a Community Wealth Fund and a Moorland Restoration Scheme, with the aim of promoting local biodiversity and supporting community initiatives. <\/p>\n\n
