This project integrates three different energy sources: <em>wind, solar and wave<\/em> energy. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The floating project of SwitchH2 and CorPower Ocean<\/h2>\n\n<p>This new project will be based on a <strong>floating production facility<\/strong> ( <em>FPSO<\/em> ) operating offshore, with an annual production capacity of close to 300,000 tons of green ammonia. This facility will use electrolyzers powered by a combination of renewable energies, driven by a large input of energy from waves, ensuring a constant and reliable source of green electricity. <\/p>\n\n<p>Green ammonia, known for its high energy density and ease of storage, is being presented as an option to decarbonise the shipping industry. This development is part of the growing initiatives to make green ammonia a preferred fuel, especially in the fertilizer sector. <\/p>\n\n<p>With growth forecast, the green ammonia market is estimated to grow from USD 0.7 billion in 2024 to over USD 55 billion by 2032. The integration of renewable energy and wave energy technologies within this process allows the project to reach levels of efficiency and sustainability that were not previously possible. <\/p>\n\n<p>With the support of <strong>BW Offshore<\/strong> and <strong>Dutch Oceans Capital<\/strong> , as well as a grant from the <strong>GroenvermogenNL TSE<\/strong> programme, <strong>SwitcH2<\/strong> continues to expand its projects, such as in northern Portugal and other regions in West Africa.
