These permits allow progress to be made on the construction of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/windspider-crane-for-wind-powered-turbines\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"169834\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">offshore wind turbines<\/a><\/strong> , as well as the installation of interconnection and telecommunications cables, and the construction of an offshore substation that will transform the energy generated by the offshore wind turbines. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Significant progress in the offshore wind project<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The permission for the construction of the turbines and associated infrastructure marks a step forward in the development of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/third-eolian-marine-park-in-germany\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"167197\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">offshore wind farm<\/a><\/strong> , which will have a capacity of 350 MW. RWE has confirmed that the decisions issued include the authorization for the turbines, the interconnection cables, and an offshore substation intended to transmit the generated energy to land. In addition, the company expects to obtain all remaining construction permits during the first quarter of 2025.  <\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>This is an important step forward for the FEW Baltic II project, allowing us to continue development as planned.  <\/p>\n<cite>&#8220;This is a very important step towards achieving this goal,&#8221; said Tomasz Kreft, head of the offshore permitting team at RWE.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Impact and scope of the FEW Baltic II project<\/h2>\n\n<p>The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/fewbalticii.rwe.com\/project-info\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/fewbalticii.rwe.com\/project-info\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FEW Baltic II<\/a><\/strong> offshore wind farm is located approximately 50 km off the Polish coast near Ustka and <strong>will cover an area of approximately 41 km\u00b2 in the Polish part of the Baltic Sea<\/strong> . Source: RWE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<p>In 2021, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/turbine-gas-hydrogen-hydro-electric-power-plants\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"159759\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RWE<\/a><\/strong> signed a contract for differences (CfD) for the project, subject to approval by the European Commission, and the company has completed preliminary geophysical and geotechnical studies in the area.
