Enilive<\/strong> and easyJet<\/strong> have reached an agreement to supply SAF fuel. This agreement will start with the supply of sustainable aviation fuel to a number of easyJet flights from Milan Malpensa Airport, specifically on its winter routes to Norway, including Oslo and Troms\u00f8. <\/p>\n\n

The sustainable aviation fuel that easyJet<\/a><\/strong> will use will be a blend of 20% renewable hydrogen and 80% high-octane fuel, representing significant progress in reducing carbon dioxide emissions in air transport. Meanwhile, Milan airport operator SEA has participated with financial support of \u20ac800\/tonne to airlines using SAF at these airports, representing a total value of \u20ac500,000 in incentives for the use of clean fuel. <\/p>\n\n

In addition to this initial agreement, both companies have signed a letter of intent to encourage the expansion of SAF supply to other Italian airports, with a commitment of around 30,000 tonnes of pure SAF. Enilive currently produces SAF fuel from waste feedstocks, such as recycled edible oil and other agro-industrial waste, from its biorefineries in Italy. <\/p>\n\n

Enilive, for its part, estimates that it will reach a production capacity of 400,000 tons of SAF per year, starting in 2025. This figure could increase to 1 million tons per year by 2026, with the possibility of doubling this production by 2030. <\/p>\n\n

Enilive CEO Stefano Ballista underlined the importance of SAF in the future of sustainable aviation: “SAF is the solution available today for the decarbonisation of air transport, and with the implementation of the European Union’s ReFuelEU regulation, demand for this fuel will grow significantly. easyJet has been ahead of its time by incorporating this fuel into its operations, positioning itself as a leader in sustainability in the aviation sector. <\/em>“.<\/p>\n\n

easyJet<\/strong> ‘s director of tax and fuel strategy, Raminder Shergill, said: “SAF is central to our decarbonisation strategy and will help the aviation sector achieve its net-zero emissions goals. This agreement with Enilive is another positive step in boosting the SAF industry in Europe.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n\n
