This agreement, a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA), marks a significant step forward in Saudi Arabia\u2019s efforts to diversify its energy mix. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Rabigh 2 boosts Saudi Arabia&#8217;s energy transition<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>The Rabigh 2 project is part of Round 5 of the National Renewable Energy Program (NREP), which aims to improve the Kingdom\u2019s energy mix. The Saudi Ministry of Energy oversees the program, which aims to achieve a balanced electricity production <strong>of 50% gas and renewable energy by 2030.<\/strong> The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rabigh_2_IPP\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rabigh_2_IPP\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Rabigh 2 solar plant<\/a><\/strong> will be developed, built and operated by TotalEnergies and Aljomaih, with an estimated grid connection date of 2026.  <\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>This project reflects our ongoing commitment to Saudi Arabia\u2019s energy transition and contributes to reducing emissions by providing more clean energy.<\/p>\n<cite>Commented Patrick Pouyann\u00e9, Chairman and CEO of TotalEnergies.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A strategic partner in Saudi Arabia<\/h2>\n\n<p>Already a major player in the Kingdom\u2019s energy sector, TotalEnergies continues to expand its commitment to renewable projects.
