Drones now remove these obstacles, allowing <strong>engineers to remain safely on the ground<\/strong> while keeping the electricity flowing uninterrupted. <\/p>\n\n<p>National Grid employs a variety of drones with specific capabilities, including:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>DJI M350\/M300 RTK Drones<\/strong> : With features like anti-collision radar and the ability to fly for up to 50 minutes in adverse weather conditions, these industrial drones are ideal for monitoring high voltage towers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>DJI Mini 3 Pro<\/strong> : Lightweight and weighing just 250 grams, these drones are perfect for operating in areas close to people and in hard-to-reach places.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced<\/strong> : Equipped with thermal imaging and lighting modules, this drone is ideal for indoor inspections, such as in substations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Drones are equipped with high-tech sensors, such as thermal cameras and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/neoenergy-and-floating-lidar-technology\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"141834\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LiDAR systems<\/a><\/strong> , which allow <strong>infrared data to be captured and 3D models<\/strong> , also known as <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/articulo\/digital-twins-technological-innovation\/\" data-type=\"articulo\" data-id=\"124459\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">digital twins<\/a><\/strong> , to be generated. So far, <strong>successful test flights of up to 3km<\/strong> have been conducted, representing a milestone in infrastructure inspection.
