ScottishPower Renewables\u2019 East Anglia TWO offshore wind project, part of energy giant Iberdrola, will take a major step towards the energy transition<\/a><\/strong> thanks to the collaboration with Hitachi Energy, a global leader in energy solutions. This innovative agreement will allow 960 MW of wind energy to be integrated into the UK electricity grid<\/strong> , with the capacity to supply clean energy to almost one million homes. <\/p>\n\n

Connecting wind energy on a large scale<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

The East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm<\/a><\/strong> , located 32km off the coast of Suffolk, is a key part of ScottishPower Renewables\u2019 plan to expand offshore wind power generation capacity in the UK<\/strong> . Within this framework, Hitachi Energy will provide advanced onshore and offshore grid connection solutions using its EconiQ technology<\/a><\/strong> to ensure reliable and flexible power, despite the inherent intermittency of wind power. <\/p>\n\n

Innovation and collaboration for sustainability<\/h2>\n\n

The East Anglia TWO project<\/a><\/strong> is one of the most ambitious renewable energy projects in the region and forms part of wider efforts to achieve the UK\u2019s 2030 climate goals<\/strong> . Through co-creation between Hitachi Energy and ScottishPower Renewables, new energy quality standards and innovative solutions for integrating wind energy into the national grid will be developed. <\/p>\n\n

Hitachi Energy<\/a><\/strong> , with its experience in integrating more than 150 GW of HVDC (high voltage direct current) systems<\/strong> worldwide, plays a crucial role in enabling the decarbonisation of the European energy system<\/a><\/strong> and, in the long term, in the goal of making Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050.<\/p>\n\n
