On November 14, the Edda Wind<\/strong> company celebrated the official delivery of the \u201c Vestri Enabler<\/em> \u201d, its last operational service vessel ( CSOV<\/em> ), built by Astilleros Gond\u00e1n in Spain, which meets high efficiency standards with zero emissions.<\/p>\n\n

The naming ceremony, held in Gij\u00f3n the following day, was attended by Cr\u00e9dit Agricole CIB’s Global Director of Energy and Real Estate, Danielle Baron, who acted as the event’s patron to celebrate the event.<\/p>\n\n

The Vestri Enabler is part of a series of vessels specifically designed to operate in offshore wind farms. Measuring 88.3 metres in length, the CSOV<\/a><\/strong> incorporates state-of-the-art technology, including a liquid hydrogen-based propulsion system<\/strong> (LOHC) that enables zero-emission operations. <\/p>\n\n

In addition, it has the capacity to accommodate up to 120 people, including technicians and official crew, which positions it as a crucial node for maritime operations for the start-up and maintenance of offshore wind turbines, as well as other applications.<\/p>\n\n

This vessel exemplifies Edda Wind\u2019s commitment<\/strong> to sustainability, offering operational solutions that drastically reduce carbon emissions. In addition, its optimized design allows for maximizing operational efficiency in wind farms, setting a new standard in the industry. <\/p>\n\n

The \u201c Vestri Enabler<\/em> \u201d is named after Vestri, one of the four dwarves in Norse mythology who hold up the sky. This is the third ship in the series, preceded by the \u201c Nordri Enabler<\/em> \u201d and the \u201c Sudri Enabler<\/em> \u201d, delivered in September 2023 and July 2024, respectively. <\/p>\n\n

Following completion of trials in the UK, Vestri Enabler will begin an initial four-month contract, with options for extension. This deployment will mark the start of its contribution to the growing offshore wind market, an important industry in the transition to renewable energy sources. <\/p>\n\n
