In Tom Green County, Texas, a pioneering project is emerging: the Concho Project, the world\u2019s first direct air capture (DAC) facility powered entirely by wind energy<\/strong> . The result of a strategic collaboration between Skytree, Greenalia, Return Carbon and Verified Carbon, this facility marks a step forward in the fight against climate change<\/a><\/strong> by permanently removing CO\u2082 from the atmosphere. <\/p>\n\n

The Concho Project integrates Skytree\u2019s Stratus DAC technology<\/a><\/strong> with a dedicated wind farm, built by Greenalia. In its initial phase, it is projected to capture 30,000 tons of CO\u2082 per year<\/strong> , with the potential to expand to 500,000 tons per year, as part of storage. <\/p>\n\n

Skytree’s modular technology, which is inspired by systems used on the International Space Station, ensures uninterrupted operation and optimized energy consumption. According to Elena Nikonova, Skytree’s vice president for North America, ” This innovative project opens up new opportunities for scalability and cost reduction across the entire value chain.<\/em> ” <\/p>\n\n
