The company started pre <em>-FEED<\/em> design work in October 2024, paving the way for one of Europe\u2019s largest electrolysis facilities. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Green Wilhelmshaven project<\/h2>\n\n<p>The project consists of a <strong>large-scale electrolysis plant<\/strong> , which will generate green hydrogen using energy from renewable sources, and an ammonia import terminal. Both facilities will be connected to Germany\u2019s hydrogen infrastructure, including backbone networks and underground storage, consolidating Wilhelmshaven\u2019s position as a strategic hub for hydrogen production. <\/p>\n\n<p>The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inspenet.com\/en\/news\/planta-de-optimizacion-de-hidroxido-de-litio\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"205722\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">electrolysis<\/a><\/strong> will use Electric Hydrogen\u2019s advanced <strong>proton exchange membrane<\/strong> ( <em>PEM<\/em> ) technology, selected for its efficiency and ability to minimise production costs. Electric Hydrogen\u2019s 100 MW modular plants will be ready for deployment in the European Union in 2026, supporting the transition to a decarbonised economy. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Uniper<\/strong> Hydrogen Director Susanne Th\u00f6le underlined the importance of the project: \u201c<em>Green hydrogen is essential to decarbonise industries in Europe.
